Mosquito Control

Mosquito Control

The Carroll County General Health District started a Mosquito Control Program in 2020 funded by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. With this funding our department has been able to conduct surveillance activities between May through October for trapping and submitting mosquitoes to the Ohio Department of Health for testing of the West Nile Virus. The Ohio Department of Health can also provide identification of different species of mosquitoes. This provides data to Carroll County to see if there is a presence of certain mosquitoes that may carry other diseases that can be transmitted to humans.

Please see the link below to view the press release from the Ohio Department of Health on precautions to take to prevent mosquito and tick borne illnesses.
