The Carroll County General Health District annually inspects licensed campgrounds to ensure they are in compliance with the rules established. These rules were established to provide standards for camps to follow that would provide protection to the public from injury, minimize the potential for disease transmission, and provide a safe and healthy recreational environment.
Rules for Campgrounds
Chapter 3701-26 - Ohio Administrative Code | Ohio Laws
A campground means a combined park-camp, recreation camp, recreational vehicle (RV) park and temporary campground.
Combined park-camp means any tract of land upon which a combination of five or more self-contained recreational vehicles or portable camping units are placed and includes any roadway, building, structure, vehicle or enclosure used or intended for use as part of the park facilities.
Recreation camp means any tract of land upon which five or more portable camping units are placed and includes any roadway, building, structure, vehicle or enclosure used or intended for use as part of the facilities of such camp.
Recreational vehicle park means any tract of land used for parking five or more self-contained recreational vehicles and includes any roadway, building, structure, vehicle or enclosure used or intended for use as part of the park facilities.
Temporary campground means any tract of land used for a maximum of twenty-one days per calendar year for the purpose of parking five or more recreational vehicles, dependent recreational vehicles or portable camping units or any combination thereof. Each period of time cannot exceed seven consecutive days.
